What the fuck?

Published April 25, 2011

You’re wondering this, aren’t you? WTF is in this photo? I get that a lot. Especially with the macros. Yes, this is a macro. Still … does it matter wtf is in this photo? It’s a macro of an inside of a tulip. Does that make you feel better? Do you understand it better now? Can you now appreciate it more?
I always thought that photography was something very subjective. That when you look to a photograph you should create your own ideea about what that represents. You give it a personal meaning, your own interpretation and you personally decide if it is good at sending that message, if it is good or bad. But i think all art is like that. At every thousand people who like it, you can find someone who doesn’t, and vice-versa … not necessarily keeping the ratio. So what i am saying is … it’s ok. It’s ok if you don’t like it, it’s ok if you like it, it’s ok if you don’t understand anything from it, it’s ok if you find the meaning of life in it, it’s ok if you cannot figure wtf is in this photo in real life. It’s photography. It’s meant to say something. Anything. Look at it with an open mind and don’t try find hidden messages. You don’t even have to decide if you like it or now. See if it speaks to you. If it doesn’t, then i failed to achieve my purpose and if so, i am sorry. I promise to do better next time.
