Learn to like your country

Published December 5, 2009

I’m just getting so sick and tired of people trying to make fun of, to mock, to despise their own country. How can they even do that is beyond me. In my opinion, no matter how bad the conditions are, no matter how underdeveloped, 3′rd world country you live in or how much you hate the people amongst you because of their shitty nature, you should always have at least a bit of pride in you for being a citizen, at least some form of respect for the country you were born in. After all, you can complain all you want about whichever aspect of your community, the fact of the matter remains that YOU make that community, YOU make your country. So if you don’t like it, it’s up to you to make it better. Raise the standard bar for yourself, do good, try and be all in all a better person, improve your culture, your manners, set an example for other people to follow. Teach your children the values you stand by. If everybody would do that then everything would change into something better. Your surely won’t solve any of the problems by complaining. Take action and the results will come.
But above all, keep that little bit of respect for the country that made you. It’s only fair.
